The Virtues of 'Virtual'
• A Global Solution to the Local Economy
Jul 22, 2009 – Maine Hometown News LLC and its Gray New Gloucester Gazette have been, built and continue to grow as a model virtual business. Environmentally we have a very small carbon footprint, as we are virtually paperless and do not use automobiles to provide distribution. Journalistically, our content is not limited by space on a sheet of paper, or the advertising necessary to cover production costs. As many of you have read in our bios, we maintain 'virtual' offices, which also have a huge environmental and economic benefit.
Speaking of economy and efficiency, Gray resident and businesswoman, Kathrine Farris, has launched OfficeSolutionsME.com. One might make the analogy; Office Solutions ME, is to administrative staffing, what GNG Gazette is to traditional newspapers.
The firm provides professional services ranging from clerical duties, to business development, to marketing strategies, to budget preparation. Not unlike the Gazette, Kathrine has a profound dedication to community and local businesses. Her virtual staffing business model is what she hopes to be a catalyst for local business growth through the efficiency and versatility of the services she can provide.
Whether a company needs a consultant to organize or develop policy and procedures, create a marketing plan, or provide assistance during crunch time with budgeting or financial planning, Farris will accommodate.
Businesses using the service realize a cost savings of the overhead of staffing, office space, and other associated expenses, yet have the benefit of professional personnel when needed.
Office Solutions ME offers services at a standard hourly rate with contract options that offer preferred pricing. According to the web site, pricing is negotiable based on the complexity of the service being provided.
So… in our continuing effort to grow and improve the Gazette, with our commitment to efficiency and economy, what else could we do? We contracted with Kathrine for development and marketing services. As excited as we are to have her expertise, Farris is equally enthusiastic to offer the Gray & New Gloucester Gazette as a marketing tool for her business clients.
