Mid-Maine Communications and Pine Tree Networks Become OTT Communications.

• That explains the new look to the phone bills.

 – Mid-Maine Communications and Pine Tree Networks, two well known local telecommunication service providers have merged and are now operating throughout New England as OTT Communications.

The companies joined forces when Alabama-based parent company Otelco Inc. (NYSE OTT) acquired Mid-Maine Communications in July 2006, followed by Pine Tree Networks (then Country Road Communications) in October 2008. The combined entities have been providing telecommunication services in partnership but will now introduce the OTT Communications name to their current and prospective customers. The new name will unify the companies and will provide a consistent visual identity throughout the service territories.

"These two strong telecommunication companies are united in delivering the best communication services available with a local touch, great customer service and a commitment to the communities served," said Nick Winchester, Senior Vice President and General Manager of OTT Communications. "The new name strengthens the corporate identity and positions us to build on our strengths and expand our offering as a unified company."

"OTT Communications has built an incredibly well-thought out carrier class telecommunications network that will serve our needs – and the needs of our customers – for many years to come. This allows us to compete locally and globally," said Scott Curtis, CIO, Bangor Saving Bank, a customer of OTT Communications.
