GNG Adult Education Recognition

At left, guest speaker, Anita Cormier. Anita attended adult ed to get her writing skills up snd is currently an Honors student at CMCC - she lives in Gray with her son, Austin. At right Heather Phinney, GNG Anmimal Cntrol Officer receiving her diploma. Heather tried, and failed, before to get her GED but, with assistance and renewed confidence succeeded with the GNG Adult School program.

 – On May 26th almost 200 friends and family braved the steamy hot weather to attend the GNG Adult Education Recognition Ceremony at GNGHS.

Superintendent Victoria Burns and MSAD 15 school board members Sandy MacDonald and Kathleen Potter were on hand to congratulate the graduates.

To date, over 50 students have received their high school credential in 2010 through Adult Education and all have expressed a desire to move on to post-secondary education!

Anita Cormier of Gray spoke about her struggle to move on to college and the 'Courage to Grow" award from CMCC was presented by Betsy Libby to graduate, Angela Carson.
