Touch a Truck

  • To Benefit the Ommunity Auxiliary Food Pantry

- A Touch-a-Truck fundraiser is being held to benefit the Community Auxiliary Food Pantry in Gray. There will be lots of trucks and construction equipment for kids to explore and sit in the driver's seat. The event is on Saturday, September 18 from 11am - 1pm, rain or shine.

It is being held in the Gray Marketplace parking lot (Route 100 in Gray). The suggested donation is $2 per person with a max of $10 per family. There will

be vehicles and drivers from Whitney Tree Service, All Right Towing, F.A. Wing Paving, P&K Sand and Gravel, Hancock Lumber, J.P. Beote Inc., Copp Motors, Troiano Waste Services, Gray Fire-Rescue, and Gray Public Works.

Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase for the chance to win gift certificates from local businesses, including Scizzorhands, Spring Meadows golf, Gray Marketplace, Marden's, B&R Dairy Bar, Jess and Nic's, anf the Gray and New Gloucester Gazette.

The food pantry serves families from Gray, New Gloucester, and many other surrounding towns.

. Kids can also enter a raffle to win a ride to school on a fire truck!!

A Proud Day for Gray

Shaker Vilage

2010 Season

The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, New Gloucester, ME, will open for the 2010 season on Friday, May 28th at 10 AM. The museum will be open Mondays through Saturdays, 10-4:30 through Columbus Day. Tours, crafts workshops and demos, special events and new exhibit about Shaker life and architecture titled "Creating Chosen Land: Creating Our Home 1783-2010" will be featured later in the season.

NG Historical Society

Meeting September 16th

- The New Gloucester Historical Society will meet on Thursday, September 16th at 7PM at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26, New Gloucester, ME.

The meeting begins at the Shaker Library. Members and friends will view the new exhibit "Creating Chosen Land: Our Home 1783-2010," the most comprehensive architectural history display ever done on a single Shaker village.
