"I take pleasure in making art, enjoying the play of texture and color in painting. I find symbolism and coincidence in my found artworks, which seem to just arrange themselves and come together at the right time!" |
Meet the Artist
Jennie is a freelance artist living in Gray, Maine. She works primarily with collage, found art, watercolor, mixed media, and acrylics. She has also explored wire sculpture, bead jewelry and drawing.
Martin attended the New England School of Photography in Boston, and moved to Maine a few years later to live in Yarmouth and Windham, before settling in Gray.
As a survivor of Chronic Lyme Disease, she spends much of her time these days working to improve her health, in advocating for other patients.
Jennie practices holistic living: finding beauty in the every day, developing her spirituality and living life to the fullest. "Life is not to be taken too seriously, and we create the world that we see." Her passions are animals, nature, music, writing, and anything else creative. A yet to be fulfilled dream is to work in the field of comedy one day!
Currently, Ms. Martin does not accept commissioned work, but is always creating new original pieces. This gallery is a small sampling of her work. She can be contacted by phone at 207-657-1898 or e-mail jmartin010@maine.rr.com
